What Wonders We Work

beatboxing

So today I am going to possibly introduce you to another art form that uses just the voice and the mic. I guess you can call these people our younger teenage brothers and sisters. Their talent is extraordinary and I have been often blown away but what wonders they are able to work with just themselves and their microphones.

From Beatboxing wiki page ” Beatboxing is a form of vocal percussion which primarily involves the art of producing drum beats, rhythm, and musical sounds using one’s mouth, lips, tongue, voice, and more. It may also involve singing, vocal imitation of turntablism, the simulation of horns, strings, and other musical instruments. Beatboxing is connected with hip hop culture although it is not limited to hip hop music.”

I know some of our site’s members might not be in the mood to hear some kids emulating a drum-machine… still I ask you to kindly have an open mind and listen, watch… and wonder:

nice … no?

check this kid out… he’s 14!!! … he’s not as seasoned as some of the people I will be showcasing in this post… but he’s still… amazing

Thankfully this art is not limited to just males… there are quite accomplished and renowned female beatboxers:

There are two honorable mentions that I will post and leave you to contemplate till my next post:

DJ Scratch:

Roxorloops my favorite by far (warning contains a few explicit words):

Thats it for now… Sometimes when I see these guys… I find it kind of liberating that they dont worry about a pop filter or touching the expensive condenser mic with their mouths…

Drop me a line (read comment) if this at all amazed you.
