Another Voice123 PR Debacle

Another Voice123 PR Debacle

peearrr

So I finally got around to Steven Lowell’s answer to my post Voice123 wants to turn my account inacctive

and loe and behold… I read this in his blog post answer (please keep in mind that he provided this answer to put my mind at ease)

” Now, I am sure that we all like to park ourselves on websites for good exposure, but the plain and simple truth is…You are either in this voice over business or you are not. It is not wise to throw your name on a website with the hopes they will find you, and then, not pay attention to it. You have to be there to answer when someone comes fishing around to offer work for you. Casting Sites Roundup

Morning Y’all.

I wanted to take a step back from my back to basics category of blog posts and take a look at what’s happening with the VO casting scene. I don’t think I need to interview anyone at this point in time since most of these are my thoughts and are very editorial like…

Some of our members believe that the Voice Over casting sites  ( I guess now I should upgrade the term to be the 3 Vs…. voices.com, voice123.com and voplanet.com) are driving the rates down… are taking jobs away from the pros and are generally causing havoc in the universe. I was going to cut and paste the contents of a few resources here… but I figured that the post would be around 10 pages long… and it would take you 3 hours to scroll to the end of it so I decided I would just cut and paste the links to the Voice over rates and rate related calculators that I have found. As you might have noticed I am a bit of a trouble maker… not so much that I break things or commit crimes… but rather I ask embaressing questions to people in our industry. Sometimes they ignore me… and sometimes I bug them enough to answer. But for now let me tell you the backstory of today’s post:

A while back I was browsing the voiceover-casting.com site and came across a member’s comment that peaked my interest. Read More
