Although it saddens me when calamities happen to friends and family. I find that to some degree it brings us closer that we might share their burden and alleviate the suffering they are experiencing.
Very recently I was shocked to find that my good friend Michelle Summers, one of the partners at VOplanet.com was taken to the hospital and suffered from a medical condition that rendered her bed ridden for the better part of a month.
I was upset that she had not mentioned this to me earlier but the truth is that she didn’t have time to update us with her status while she was in the middle of fighting for her life.
So I urge you to send Michelle your prayers for her good health. Show her that you care and that this community is not just a group of individuals trying to steal jobs from each other… but one of friends and colleagues who care for the safety and well being of our fellow trench dwellers.

Good Morning Readers,
It’s a windy and dusty day here in Cairo, Egypt. I feel a bit guilty that I haven’t been writing as much, it’s not like I’ve been on a beach ignoring you guys, but the truth is it took quite some time and research to put together The Voiceover Pavilion directory. Thankfully I have some good friends with some writing skillz who were able to step and and help fill part of the void.
The Aftermath
Like any new website it will take a few weeks for people to get used to the way things are done on TVP (I originally wanted to call it Taji’s Voiceover Pavilioin… but thought it was too narcissistic so I opted to call it The Voiceover Pavilion).
Although the website is pretty simple … I still think that because I set it up I might be assuming that everyone else would be able to follow my strange way of thinking… so I’ve setup a simple tutorial to tell you how the site functions.

Greetings Dear Readers!
Today is a two fold celebration as I have 2 things that I am happy to announce.
Bicentennial Post for TVE!
The first is that this is the 200th post for Taji’s Voice Emporium. It’s now been around 14 months since the launch of the blog and in the last 3.2 months since the relaunch alone we’ve had around 6800 hits on the blog. Couple that with the 17,000 hits we had last year and we’re not doing so badly! Especially since this blog is for such a niche market.
My deepest gratitude to all my regular readers and to my contributors for making the last 14 months of my life both enjoyable and satisfying.

Morning Folks,
A bit of Drama and Action have been happening lately because of a bit of misunderstanding that occurred on the Voiceover front.
In case you are not yet aware of it, Taji’s Voice Emporium has a section dedicated to listing Scam Artists that Voiceover talent worldwide have had bad experiences with.
The Biggest scammers so far are a casting agency in India called VoxBox run by Melroy D’Mello, Michelle D’Mello and Shawn Pereira.
These people have taken the fact that they are based in India as protection from any litigation that might come their way and have scammed several artists out of their hard earned cash.

Lately I’ve been dealing with allot of none voice-over realated businesses. Other than being a professional voice-over artist I am also a creative professional (advertising, marketing, design). So more recently I’ve dealt with software developers and programmers.
The conclusion I have come to is that. I don’t like them. Not because they aren’t funny or they aren’t friendly people. The truth of the matter is that they are very savvy with regards to some of their business practices.
But not all.
Their idea of customer service is having a forum up and letting people discuss their issues about the software.
That’s not customer care. That’s just an easy way for you to find out what’s wrong with your software on the cheap and fixing it.
That has got me thinking about my personal business practices and what they could mean to my clients.
