G’day Mates!
Today’s post might seem a little technical… but the theory and issues behind it are pretty straight forward. It was inspired by my current Casting Site Directory project and this problem has caused me numerous issues while compiling the directory.

One of the most important marketing tools for the Modern Voiceover artist in our day and age is a well designed and informative website. This is your portal on the interweb and a means for the whole online universe to be able to access information about you the way you want to be seen and heard.
I won’t waste your time with what you should have on your website… you know what should go there and you’ve seen it on other sites.
What I want to talk to you today is why some of the websites being put up are getting almost no search engine generated hits.

Morning Folks, While doing my usual web scouring I stumbled on a free VO ebook by Susan Berkley from The Great Voice Company The book is in pdf format and is 32 pages long. Susan calls it a special report and is partially targeted toward promote her business. But there is nothing wrong with looking through it and possibly getting a few gems of wisdom here and there. I recorded this at 11 pm and I was up today at 6 am to drop someone off at the airport then go the Canadian embassy downtown to pickup my new passport then go to work etc etc. so my voice is understandably tired. Finally!
Geez this took a long time to get here…huh! If you remember I posted a request for a favor from any of my readers in the New York area to help me with my purchase of a new microphone Click here to read that post. That was back in March 27th of this year.
None but one answered and I greatly thank him for his offer and support. Its June 9th and I finally got my new Microphone. Think about that… it took 3 months for me to get my hands on an item from amazon.com (sigh). Anyway I can’t blame the lack of a shipping address on this… we ended up diverting the delivery address to Washington DC but my friend who was going to visiting DC from Egypt was not allowed to travel to the states because of the outbreak of Swine Flu in the states… so he was stuck in Egypt missing his conference and I was stuck waiting for someone to come to Egypt from DC.
The Mic finally arrived and its an Audio Technica USB AT2020 what I’m going to be doing today is something called an unboxing. Its a trick I picked up from all the gadget and gizmo blogs that I frequent. It shows you a documented step by step presentation of what you should find when you open a new piece of equipment’s packaging.
